autism consultants vancouverA Centre-Based Intervention Program will begin with an initial assessment of your child with your Program Manager; this will include a parent interview, the assessment process and then a review of the assessment report.

In your report you will get a Behavior Plan of Intervention and a graph displaying your child’s current abilities. You will have 2 options for the Centre-Based Program; We have morning and afternoon classes. In consultation with your Program Manager, you will choose the best placement for your child.

After your child begins in the centre based program you can expect the following:

  • 15 hours a week group therapy program which includes: 3 1:1 teaching sessions and 6 group teaching sessions each day
  • Your Program Manager will get 2 hours per month to overlap the staff
  • Your Student Program Supervisor (training for either BCBA or BCaBA certification) will see your child for 1 hour per week
  • Your child will be placed in a group with 2 other students that possess similar skills and with 2 Behavior Interventionists who will be their primary teachers
  • You will also receive on alternating months a 1.5 hour home visit (meant to show parents what we do in the centre and help with issues in the home) or a 1 hour parent meeting in the centre to review your child’s progress and observe them work and play.
  • You will also be eligible to attend monthly parent nights that discuss topics that are relevant to the current parent group, to be able to touch base with other parents, and an opportunity to discuss your child with you Program Manager and Student Program Supervisor
  • You will have annual re-assessments done where your child’s graph will be updated with their progress and you will get a new Behavior Plan to submit to MCFD
